Two Imagineers with major influences on attractions at Walt Disney World and other theme parks will be officially tabbed as “Disney Legends” next month. Tony Baxter and Collin Campbell will be honored alongside TV producer/host Dick Clark, actors Billy Crystal and John Goodman, comedian Ed Wynn, Apple founder Steve Jobs and animator Glen Keane at a ceremony during the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif., on Aug. 10.

He had a 43-year career with Walt Disney Imagineering.

Campbell’s work included Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and Pirates of the Caribbean. He also worked on film and television projects for the company.

The Disney Legend Award is the company’s highest honor, says Bob Iger, chairman and CEO.

“It’s reserved for the extraordinary visionaries and artists behind the Disney magic, the men and women who push the limits of innovation and creativity to ensure Disney remains truly special,” he says.

Crystal and Goodman voiced characters in the Disney-Pixar films “Monsters, Inc.” and “Monsters University,” which was released this summer. Clark began hosting ABC’s “American Bandstand” in 1958 and was a holiday fixture for the network on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” for almost 40 years.

Wynn, known as the voice of Mad Hatter in “Alice in Wonderland,” appeared in other Disney films including “Mary Poppins,” “That Darn Cat,” “The Absent-Minded Professor” and “Son of Flubber.”

Keane worked on “The Rescuers,” “Pete’s Dragon,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas” and “Tarzan.” He was executive producer and animation supervisor for

“Tangled,” which premiered in 2010.

Jobs joined Walt Disney Co.’s board of directors in 2006, the year the company acquired Pixar Animation Studios. He advised the company until his death in 2011.
